The Hyatt Place - Houston / The Woodlands generally receives positive feedback, particularly praising its convenient location, clean rooms, and friendly staff. However, recurring concerns include issues with room temperature control (loud AC, uneven heating), shower pressure, and inconsistent housekeeping service. While the breakfast is consistently rated favorably, some guests have experienced billing discrepancies and a dated feel to the property.
The AC was vibrating so loudly, it gave me bad tinnitus and I could feel my body vibrating with it. We called maintenance and they came up and told us that’s just normal in a hotel…..sir…..this is not our first hotel lol. This is the first one with an AC so vibrating loud that it hurts. He moved us rooms and it still made lots of vibrating noise every time it kicked on, just not so bad as the first room that hurt. I would never stay here again because of that uncomfortable vibration. If you have migraines or tinnitus then definitely avoid this place. Good location in a safe area, but honestly not worth the discomfort of that vibration. It was like you were inside the biggest and loudest mosquito light trap ever. The videos do not accurately capture it. It was so much louder and obnoxious in person.
It was and amazing stay for the weekend. The room was spacious and clean when we arrived, as well as the lobby and pool area. Everything is so close by that it was easy to drive around and get food, necessities for the kids and have entertainment. The mall is so close as well and it’s the perfect location to where you can have a days worth of activities without really leaving the area. Will definitely be staying again when seeing family in the area.
Beautiful hotel in convenient Woodlands location. Front desk staffing friendly and expeditious. The breakfast each morning is one of the better breakfasts I had at a hotel, and complimentary. On negatives are the water pressure in the shower was very low, front desk was informed, but it never really changed during our visit. Additionally on one of the days housekeeping never came to our room. We had to request towels that evening to get by until the next day. Overall very nice hotel, convenient location.
This hotel exceeded my expectations. First, I want to give Amy and the front end staff a big shoutout for making us feel so welcomed. They went above and beyond. Our room was much bigger than many of the standard rooms we’ve been in which was great because we had our bikes and kept them in the room due to the rain. It was so clean. Breakfast was amazing! There was oatmeal with various toppings including a fruit compote, 2 different egg options (one no meat) a waffle or pancake option, bread choices, potatoes and all sorts of hot sauces and condiments. They even had oatmilk. Coffee was delicious. Bed was soft and comfy. The room got nice and cold during the muggy, hot days. We will be back!!
Nice midrange hotel in The Woodlands area. Free onsite parking is great and not crowded. The property is lined with thick trees and undergrowth which creates a visual barrier to the street. This is standard practice for the area. It’s kind of obnoxious when you are looking for a business, but looks nice while on the road. The free breakfast was better than most hotel free breakfast offerings. Lots of variety. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. The pillows were pretty flat, but I know that’s a personal preference thing. They still have HBO on the TV- pretty rare these days. The room was serviced each day during the stay, something many hotels are cutting out. I was there with a group and used a large conference room for a few days. The tables had a slant to them, which sort of made them feel like elementary school desks, and the room temp had wild swings from warm to cold. People were constantly taking their jackets off and putting them back on. I’m sure it’s a temperature programming thing that could be addressed. Other than the minor conference room issues, it’s a great place to stay.
This is a wonderful place to unwind! We took a day trip to Houston, and it was just too hectic for us. That’s when I chose this spot, and I’m so happy we stayed. It was such a beautiful place, and we could really relax away from the city’s hustle and bustle. The staff were friendly and helpful. If we ever need to head back to Houston, this would definitely be our first choice.
Place is clean and conveniently located. Rooms are large & clean. Decor is nice what I didn’t like was the bed was uncomfortable and the sheets sound like cardboard (lol). Bathroom exhaust is not great. Breakfast is a convenient amenity but lack of flavor. No bacon ?. I was disappointed because I had stay at other Hyatt hotels and never had a bad sleeping experience. Not sure if the bed in my room was not but definitely won’t go back to check it out. I will stay at a different location.
The service was just okay and the rooms were nothing special. For a Hyatt, I honestly expected much better. The shower pressure was very low, which was disappointing, and overall the room did not feel worth the price. I feel as though they put my effort in the lobby than anywhere else. The biggest issue, however, is the billing. I stayed on December 19th, and as of January 11th, I still have not received my incidental deposit back. I spoke with the front desk because, I thought I would get my deposit back after week as what they told and after almost a month I’m still waiting on my deposit $330 ?!?!! There were also daily parking fees charged, which I still haven’t been reimbursed for either. I had to go through my bank just to get any real movement on getting my money back, which should never be necessary after a hotel stay. I’ve genuinely had better service, clearer billing, and fewer issues at Holiday Inn than I did here. For the price and the brand name, this experience was very disappointing. I would recommend booking elsewhere to avoid the hassle.
I would like to especially highlight Isha, because she truly made all the difference in our experience. We had an issue with the system due to a reservation made through an app we always use, and from the very beginning she was kind, patient, and extremely professional. She went above and beyond to help us, found a solution, and thanks to her we were able to get everything sorted out perfectly. Her attitude, care, and willingness to help were outstanding. People like her are rare, and she represents the hotel in the best possible way. The Hyatt Place exceeded our expectations — everything was impeccably clean, well maintained, and very comfortable. We are truly impressed with the hotel and will definitely be coming back. I wish there were always people like Isha taking care of guests. Thank you so much for an amazing experience!
The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast looked good but I had a medical procedure and couldn’t eat. The refrigerator was broken and when maintenance finally came he moved it around, said something in a foreign language I didn’t understand, and left. They had very few basic cable channels. The room was clean, but old. For the life of me I cannot figure out how it got an “Excellent” rating. Not even close.
