Recent reviews of the Embassy Suites The Woodlands at Hughes Landing reveal a mixed experience, with some guests praising the location, staff, and amenities like the rooftop pool and breakfast. However, significant issues have emerged regarding room maintenance, particularly concerning shower problems (lack of hot water, mold), reservation errors, and significant incidental charges. Several reviewers highlighted issues with key access and a lack of responsiveness from front desk staff.
Worst experience at the Embassy Woodlands. I had so many issues at this hotel will not stay here again. Here is a list of issues that happened during my stay at the Embassy Woodlands. 1.) I checked in and they charged me a $150 incidental for a one night stay. Not even the Four Seasons charges that amount. 2.) Upon arriving to my room, the TV said “Welcome Rueben.” Problem is my name isn’t Rueben and I realized quickly that not only did they give me the wrong room, they gave me access to someone else’s room! This is a huge safety issue absolutely unacceptable. 3.) When I went back downstairs, the concierge couldn’t find my reservation. I booked 3rd party, and the 3rd party company informed me they already sent the reservation days ago. Found out that the Embassy never saw the email and failed to enter the reservation. 4.) Once I got to my room, the key access pad didn’t work, so I had to go back downstairs with all my luggage to have them send maintenance to unlock my door. 5) I booked a King bed, and once I got into my room I was given a Queen bedroom. 6.) Later that night I went to dinner, came back late, and once again my key access pad on the door didn’t work, so I had to make another trip downstairs to have them send a second maintenance person. 7.) The following morning I went downstairs and to the breakfast, and shocker, when I went back upstairs my key access on the door didn’t work a THIRD time. So had to go back downstairs for the 3rd time, wait another 15 minutes, for a third maintenance person to open and fix the door. 3rd guy got there and couldn’t even fix it after working on it, so I just checked out because my supposed to be relaxing and peaceful stay ended up being ruined. This hotel seriously needs to get booking and maintenance in order. I’ve stayed at Best Westerns that had less problems then this and for families it’s a huge safety issue knowing anyone or any guest can get into your room at any time. Completely unacceptable from a Hilton brand hotel.
We stayed here for one night. We arrived late and left early so we did not get to really explore the hotel but the rooms were great! We had two connecting rooms. They were clean. Showers were spacious. Bed was ok. My kids stayed longer with some friends. They enjoyed the pool and said breakfast was great! The location was also great! Lots to do in the area. We would stay here again for sure.
Traveling isn't always fun..... said NO ONE who has the pleasure of sitting at Melissa's bar. Once again, watching her hustle while keeping her cool temperament and friendly demeanor is always a sight to see. Arrived just before the happy hour on Friday (?), and saw a fellow associate, Rocio, pop in flawlessly to help Melissa catch up. Watching these two amazing servers handle a large, thirsty crowd and get everyone taken care of with ease and a smile was quite impressive. Once again the service at this embassy is always stellar and Melissa is a standout amongst gems. Thank you so much for caring about your associates enough to motivate them to care for your guests and give them unforgettable, personalized service. I'll see you in October :D
Rooms were great and location great. The only really good service however was the lady at the bar and got happy hour. Imagine staying at a Hilton and finding out at 9:35 am that they only offer coffee during breakfast which stops at 9:30. And they were not going to allow me to get a cup. Checking on Friday had three ladies, but only one was pleasant and greeting. The other two needed to go work for Walmart. They only have one lady at the counter on Monday for checkout and she was checking people and also acting at the Valet driver to get the car so checkout took for ever. The big glass patio door to the patio off the bar was very hard to open for a man so women were just pushing it shut enough so they could get back in. Twice the door blew open and both times the security guy came and shut it and decided was his duty to chastise us for leaving it open and slammed it shut. Totally unprofessional. Now if I had only paid $125-$150 a night would have expected this poor level of service. But not from a Hilton, in the nicest area of Houston called The Woodlands.
Melissa, is absolutely lovely. She is personable & funny. Made my stay - with a cherry on top. ? One of the best bartenders I've had in a while. The views here are beautiful both day and night. It really is worth walking the water - I saw so much wild life. There is tons to do nearby - could even walk if you're brave enough.
We may have just went on a bad night. Their server was down and we weren’t able to get room keys. Once the server was back up and people were getting room keys, one of the front desk guys was giving attitude to our boss who reserved these rooms months in advance.. there was a big issue with them not allowing them to access our room keys to distribute them to us. Then they couldn’t remember what rooms they gave us and asked us to go try the keys. My coworker used his key and walked in his room to find the room was occupied. We stayed for two nights and our room key wouldn’t work every time we left the room. We had to go back down to the front desk to get a new key at least 4 times. The rooms were clean just a little out dated. I liked the complimentary drink service. The bar was always busy and only had one bartender so there was usually quite a wait but she was nice.
I stayed at this hotel back in December. I have zero complaints. The location, staff, cleanliness of the hotel were perfect. I really appreciate how Chaunay, Dezmeon and the breakfast hostess (sorry forgot her name) were extremely kind and helpful on my visit. I will definitely be back.
We have stayed at this location numerous times over the past 7–8 years, including nearly every major holiday. This was not our first Valentine’s Day reservation here, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Prior to booking, we called to confirm early check-in because we had a scheduled 2:30 PM business meeting with employees flying in from California. We were told to “just come in” and that early check-in would be accommodated. That did not happen. Upon arrival, the manager on duty Ms. Chauncey informed us our room would not be ready until 3:00 PM. Meanwhile, our employees were checked in around 1:40 PM on the same floor. We returned at 2:45 PM hoping the room was ready, but again were told no. With minutes before an important executive meeting, we were forced to change in the downstairs restroom and hallway area with our luggage open in public view. Guests were walking by asking why we were dressing in the hallway instead of our room. It was embarrassing, lacked privacy, and completely unprofessional. To make matters worse, when we expressed our concerns and mentioned contacting upper management, the manager responded with an eye roll and dismissive attitude. We have witnesses to this interaction. This ordeal made us 20 minutes late to our meeting and rushed into our early dinner reservation. Ironically, the meeting we were attending included discussion about which hotel we would select for future corporate events and social gatherings. Based on this experience, this property has now been excluded from consideration. As long-standing loyal guests, we expected far better treatment and professionalism. This experience left a very bad impression and cast a shadow over what was meant to be both an important business engagement and a special Valentine’s Day weekend.
The Embassy Suites by Hilton was awesome. Great staff! The breakfast was definitely delicious. The only thing that was missing was the grits. They had oatmeal but I don't eat that. Everyone there were just awesome. I recommend this place anytime.
Great hotel in great location. Dezmeon at the front desk is helpful. We had a slight billing issue that he resolved right away. I find the front desk staff both kind and inviting. We stay here every year for a Christmas party and I'm always well pleased.
