The Westin at The Woodlands receives mixed reviews, with many praising its convenient location, comfortable rooms, and friendly staff. However, recurring issues with the parking system, inconsistent service, and occasional cleanliness concerns are prevalent. Recent reviews highlight issues with the parking garage operation and cleanliness.
While the stay itself wasn't bad, the parking situation left a lot to be desired. The room key was supposed to work with the parking garage across from the hotel, but did nothing. The booth attendant that helped us told us their room keys hadn't been working for a month or two. When we said we'd let them know we were told they are well aware, and have yet to resolve the issue. Another person exiting the parking garage had the same issue, his room key wouldn't let him out and he had to be let out by the booth attendant and leave his room info. Other guests said they dealt with the same issue, some having to do it every time they left during a long stay. It just rubbed us the wrong way that the hotel was aware of this issue, yet did not tell us about it beforehand, and left that responsibility to an employee of a different company they have some sort of agreement/partnership with (who clearly has been relaying this information to many people). We also asked about the prices on their machines when exiting, and found out we could've just paid them $17 when exiting after checkout since we didn't need to leave the garage during our overnight stay. The hotel charges $27 for parking in the garage but allows guests to come and go without paying the garage directly each time. We could have saved $10, but we ended up paying extra for a service we didn't use, that wouldn't have even worked properly if we had. The hotel itself was nice enough, and the staff friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the unnecessarily confusing and complicated parking situation left a sour taste in our mouths. $10 isn't a big enough difference for us personally to raise a stink about, but when it's tucked away behind a shady situation like this it makes us wonder how many other guests have paid the hotel extra money for a service they weren't aware of and couldn't use properly even if they were. Just feels like an underhanded way to get a few extra bucks from guests by overcharging them to park or push them into the valet service.
Decent comfortable hotel. Spacious, clean and modern with great staff. Some rooms can be noisy due to close proximity to late night club so bring ear plugs or move to the quieter side of the hotel. The gym is good and also outdoor pool was heated. Good options are good but the Bar doesn’t stay open very late. This hotel is a great option for business travelers or those in conferences.
Amazing value for the price, every member of the was polite and extremely helpful. The location near the Woodlands mall offered a plethora of dining options as well as shopping all within walking distance. The king suite is very spacious when compared to similarly rated hotels and offers great views from the 12th floor.
For a high class hotel, this is some of the worst service I ever had. First, the kitchen doesn't care what people want. I had one order messed up and another order cancelled. Then they blame me for it. Second, housekeeping. They will not remove trash from anywhere that has any of yours near it. I know there are ways to do things without touching guests property. Third, front desk. The front desk manager was rude and dismissive when I told her I didn't understand charges in my bank. She tried to convince me that nothing was charged and refused to listen or cooperate. Do not come to this hotel.
We stayed here for NYE. So many very nice people are working here. The party at Como was very disorganized. The normal bar manager was rude to me and unhelpful. While the bartenders and temporary managers were as nice as could be. You should consider fixing this. But the rest of the hotel staff at the front desk, Sorisso brunch, valets were quite good. Room was good, nice bed and bathroom. We had a great time. I would definitely stay here again.
I had a great experience with Maziar, Director at the Westin of the Woodlands. He has a calm, friendly, and very supportive demeanour that immediately stood out. I had a somewhat unconventional request for a computer mouse that could easily have been met with a standard response, but instead he took the time to problem-solve and genuinely help. That said, everyone I interacted with was very good, but Maziar’s thoughtful approach and willingness to go the extra step really impressed me. Overall, an excellent support experience. I highly recommend this location as well. Very Central to everything you need with a great mall right across the street
Very disappointing stay this Thanksgiving 2025, First at the parking garage downstairs elevator there was something on the floor for thee days nobody cleaned up. A large area either throw up or milk shake. I don’t know. The valet passed it everyday, Next the trash can outside the door , overflowing for days, The hotel lobby no trash can. The hotel elevators trash on the floor the whole time I was there. There desk staff , less than helpful. , They put me by some kids making noise in the hallway ,Im a Gold member with 1 million points and many stays. I asked this guy to be moved and if there was an upgrade, I was profiled , he said no. Right buddy there were other rooms available. Anyway the only thing I liked that other hotel rooms close didn’t have was the shower. Im done with the Westin . Wifi sucked, YouTube tv didn’t work. Im done . I don’t Ned’s this place or the people who work there or the type people staying there, No problem . The seating in the room sucks also. Nice shower good bed , Im pissed at the trash and lazy staff. The People cleaning the rooms were good. I can do without the rest of them , We spend good money and if you can’t respect that this is what you deserve
Nice hotel and location. Room was smaller than I would have liked it to be. There was a nice Italian restaurant with a bar attached. Also located near upscale shopping and fine dining that was a quick car ride down the street. There is a Starbucks located inside. Also in walking distance of the entertainment district. I was able to walk to a bar and lounge. This location overlooks Waterway Square.
If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing, quiet stay this hotel is not for you. By far the thing that bothered me most about our stay here was the lack of transparency about a few things that I felt like should have been brought up before we arrived here. We decided to splurge little since we hadn’t gone on vacation in quite some time and decided to upgrade to a corner room with a balcony, to witch we were welcomed to a note on the desk and a pair of ear plugs advising that the hotel has a vibrant night life right out side our doors and they hope we have a rejuvenating stay. What it should say is the restaurant next door has a DJ set up very large speakers and plays very loud and very bassey music until 2am daily, not just on the weekends. I do appreciate the ear plugs but they were certainly not near enough to drown out the music or prevent my headboard from vibrating to the bass. Also, we paid for the package that included parking and breakfast for three credits of 50$, when we received the bill after checking out this morning we’re still billed for them
I am really sad to say this place has gone significantly downhill the last year. I’ve been staying here the last 5 years on my business trips to Houston and it is usually top tier, but this most recent trip has been an absolute disappointment. When I first arrived, the water bottle in the room was half consumed and there was womens hairs on the shower wall. Not great, but easy enough to overlook. However, I also did not ask for room make-up until Wednesday (arrived Sunday) as I try to be resourceful and only request once per trip once all the towels are used. I left at 7:30 AM and left the green light on (indicating make up the room) and did not arrive back until 5:30 PM at which point the room was still not made up. There were three housekeepers in the hall (the hotel clearly does not have the capacity to prioritize rooms that have been unserviced the longest, or mine would have been tended to) and one knocked while I was in the shower at 5:45. I asked her to come back. When I left for a work function at 6, I asked one of the two remaining housekeepers in the hall to ensure my room was tended to, and when I arrived back at 10, the green light was still on and the room remained unserviced. The front desk was sympathetic when I went down and complained and they sent a housekeeper with towels, but the fact I had to ask 3 times and go out of my way repeatedly to get basic service is quite frustrating. Clearly the Westin is letting its standard slip, especially if they think they are worth $300-400 a night but can’t even get fundamentals right.
